The Mortgage Process

Stage 1: Initial contact

Make contact with Bennett Brooks Mortgage Solutions, either by phone, fax or the online contact form. An adviser will then discuss your requirements with you and will take a few more details regarding you and your situation so that they may commence some preliminary research. This will ensure that you will leave your first discussion feeling more informed regarding the choices available to you.

Stage 2: Face-to-face meeting with your adviser

If appropriate, the meeting will take between 40 minutes and one hour and will begin with an explanation of how Bennett Brooks Mortgage Solutions could help you, based on your current needs and circumstances, how we are different from other brokers and lenders, and what rights you have as a customer. We will find out more detailed information with regards to your residency, financial situation and credit history to allow us to determine the best lender and products for you personally. In addition, we will discuss what kind of property you are looking to buy and your financial expectations - this will help your adviser to further tailor the advice to your own personal situation.

Your adviser will then answer any further questions you may have and will explain the different types of mortgage, interest rates, the mortgage process and the additional costs of buying a home to ensure there are no surprises as you proceed through your application - all of these will be explained simply and without any financial jargon.

Stage 3: After The Meeting

We will research the entire mortgage market for you and using the information from the initial meeting will recommend a product to suit your individual needs and circumstances. We will then apply for a mortgage Agreement in Principle (AIP). A completed AIP is a valuable document as it gives the applicant a certificate from the lender, agreeing to lend a certain amount subject to verification of the applicant’s details.

An adviser will oversee all the paperwork and will act as source of contact, answering any questions that you may have and assisting you in obtaining your mortgage offer in the shortest time possible.

Stage 4: Mortgage Decision

If you decide to proceed with the mortgage product that we have recommended,  we will process your application, advise you if any additional information is required and then check the formal offer from the lender.

Stage 5: Down the Line

At bennettbrooks Mortgage Solutions we understand the need to keep in touch with our clients, to make sure that we look after their needs on an ongoing basis. This may benefit clients who have mortgage deals for fixed periods where their costs may increase at the end of the term.
